This winter vacation we went to Sri Lanka!
We flew into Colombo and spent one night there. We had a driver, Mr. Gamini, through the whole trip.
From Colombo he took us to Sigiriya. In the pool in Sigiriya, Noa and I played a lot of dodge ball games. One afternoon, when we were coming out of the room, there was a dog barking at a monkey, so the monkey raised it's fist at him🤣 We spent Christmas Eve there and had really good pasta and we night swam.
Then, we drove to Kandy. It was really fun walking around the streets. We had dinner at a rooftop restaurant called Scooby's Hideout. In the morning we had an amazing buffet breakfast at the hotel. I had red velvet cake, french toast (it was really yummy😋). The hotel also had a freezing cold indoor pool that the 4 of us went into (including Dad!).
On day 5 we drove to Ella. After having dinner the first night, Dad and I got a sweet roti. They were delicious.
On the way to Tissa we stopped at 3 waterfalls. In one of them we swam in it. We arrived at Tissa and we could see bats flying around. The hotel had a very nice pool. THe next day we went on a safari (compared to South Africa we didn't see much). We saw a leopard laying on a rock. It was hard to see with all the trees.
To end our vacation we spent 5 days in Unawatuna. Mom and I went diving 2 days. The instructor, Thanba, was very nice. Then the rest of the days we went to beaches and saw turtles. On one beach we saw baby black tip reef sharks! In Unawatuna we took lots of tuk tuks. I bought my flower clip at one of the street stores.
Throughout the whole vacation we visited a lot of temples and almost every night I had a chocolate milkshake😋😆 |
